New Bumper! - 90% Pics
After smashing up my skid plate in Glamis over New Years, and bending my bumper a year or so ago after hitting an idiot that pulled in front of me on the street, it was time to build a new bumper.
The main portion of the bumper, along with the main supports and main hoop are built out of 1.75" x .120" DOM tube. The side supports, side 'hoops', and light bar are build out of 1.5" x .120" DOM. And the dividers are built out of .75" x .120" DOM. For comparison the old bumper was built completely of 1.5" x .120" mild steel tube.
This bumper is build in similar fashion to my old one as the light bar is removable, as you can see.
I also boxed in the main support tubes with 1/8" plate, since it was this tube bending on the old bumper that ultimately did it in.
I say 90% complete because I still need to box in the passenger support, cap the ends, find room for one more ballast box on the light bar, paint, and skid plate. Which should all go pretty quick.
Let me know what you think!

I'm guessing your not looking at the factory gauge, I assume you have a digital after market? I wondered if mine would run hotter, but the factory gauge doesnt look like it changed from what it was before the bumper...lol How much did yours go up, zach?

Not at all. I've had the old bumper with three Hella 4000's in the same spot for three years. And with my Autometer gauge I see the truck is happy/stays at 190* with or without the light bar on. Same temp it ran at before the lights. Even if I'm really laying into it I never see it rise above 210. So yea, not worried at all.

I mean mine was not that much higher but it seems like it would be hotter, probably not enough to matter.
