What lift for 35's?

I am planning on lifting my truck and I have come across a smokin' deal on Hercules Terra-Trac A/T's sized at 35x12.50R15LT. I've got a 1993 4.0L Ext. Cab 4x4, which at the moment is bone stock. I already have a my eyes on a 4" lift from Rough Country, but the problem is I know that won't be enough with such a tall tire. A BL is needed I'm sure, but, I am also going to be installing 4" flared fenders and bedsides from Camburg.

What more will I have to do to run these tires?

Thanks in advance

He is running 8" skyjacker lift and 3" body. On 35x12.5x15 BFG M/T's.

If your going with the glass fenders then a 4" suspension and 3" body would be fine.

Yeah that is totally different cause that truck sits a lot higher stock.

You could do it with a 4" suspension but you would most likely rub at full lock. But it is possible.

i was looking at a truck with a 6 inch suspension lift and 3 inch body lift and he was running 37s fine so with 8 inches of lift and body lift you will be able to fit 35s easy

You can do a 4" suspension, 3" body and fit 35's on those generation trucks. I've seen it.

BUT....

Since you CAN get a 6" lift for it...spend the extra $100 and bump your lift to 6". you MIGHT be able to squeeze 35's in there...but i'd throw a 3" body ontop of that 6" suspension and rock 35's.

Here's maurice's 97 on a 6" and 3"...

So the 4" RC lift, 3" BL, and the fibreglass fenders from Camburg would be enough to clear 35's correct? I have no problem with rub at full lock, as I never go to full lock anyways, I mostly run trails rather than crawl in the mud.

'rather than crawl in the mud'. who crawls in the mud and doesn't crawl on trails??

anywho...

remember...larger tires add to turning radius...so you might be going full lock after tires when before you wouldn't be at full lock for the same turning radius. There's a thread here that's active involing lifted 93-97 rangers..maybe look there for ideas. I'm not positive how clear you'd be with only 4+3, but i know i've seen it on the street.

EDIT: Post Your Gen III Picks (93-97)

it was the nicest 97 and older you'd ever see...

sure it might not fit your style or trent's....but it's a very nice unique truck that was just gorgeous. I almost bought it and drove it cross county to drive it home.

I think it was the two-tone that threw it off for me. And the wheels. And the headlights. I think Metro's is my favorite lifted from that gen

How much lift you buy depends on how much tire rub you want or can deal with. 35's on anything less than 4-5inches of lift will end up rubbing on your fenders big time. Add a body lift 2-3 inches and you should be fine if you go with the 4inch or bigger lift.

I think 35's are a bit much now that I've had time to sleep on it and discuss it with my uncle. As he so elegantly put it: "It's a damn MINI-TRUCK, if you want to go big, buy yourself a full-size."

So, I'm back to where I started; 4" suspension, 1-2" BL, and some 33's. And since Terra-Trac's don't come in 33's, I am considering MTR's

your uncle sounds like my dad... and ultimately its up to yourself...

i would rather drive a beefed up ranger with 33s or 35s than a stock fullsize truck... it all depends what YOU want! my girlfriend always tells me my truck is small and "cute" but what she doesnt know is how rugged them little rangers can be fullsize is nice but ill always be a ranger fan! anyways good luck with watever route you choose! im sure it will look awesome when its done!!
