Icon5 1995 E350 stalls while idling... this truck NEVER stalls. Ever..???

Ya so I went over to my mothers on Friday to help with some stuff, and took the E350 as I dont drive it much, and well... took it for a spin... ( it gets a whopping 6mpg)

Started up fine. Drive fine... idled fine.

3hrs or so later I go to leave, starti t, and its running really ruff, to the point where it actually stalled. We have had this truck for 10 years, it doesnt stall.. ever.

Restart, running super ruff, and well, mom is 2 miles from my house... figured I better get the truck home... (towing would be astronomical)

On the way hame the truck had no power...and it stalled 2x at two different re lights. Giving it gas, does nothing. it doesnt rev up or anything, doesnt smooth out... its like the gas pedal doesnt even work, yet it will accellerate...

I got it home here, and let it idle in the drive way for a good 15 minutes, and it runs rough but then after like 3 minutes, will act like it wants to stall, and then 'recoups' to back to running rough again...

I am thinking plugs and wires? neither have been done on the truck in about 40K miles... Maybe gas filter?
