My New F150 and shopping experience lol..
Well, i have been looking HARD for a new F150 as alot of people on here know. Well, there was a bunch of guys from the east coast down here in iowa with a bunch of trucks, so i went and talked to them, they said it wasnt possible to get what i wanted with the budget i had.
this is what i wanted:
2005+ F150 Crew cab FX4 with less than 75K on the clock, had to have the center shift, power everything and in either white, black or DSG. Wasnt too worried about leather or cloth, but had to have captains.
OH, and my budget was $20K,
Any ways, i knew they were blowing smoke up my butt, so i kept searching.. After about 5 hours on craigslist, ebay and the like, i was starting to get a little discouraged.. Then i happend to get on autotrader and BAM. There she was.
Heres the add, I will be driving up there in a few hours with the dad to go pick her up.

Well an update.. The title is in my name but i cant drive it home until tuesday since they cant let me drive it home until they get the check from the bank..
yeah the grill looks REALLY good in person.. looks very similar to a saleen.. The exhaust is flowmaster, sounds REALLY good inside the cab.. The chrome stuff will come off ASAP..
Tires and wheels, the tires are just street tires, but they are brand new.. cant really afford to just through brand new tires away so they stay until i need to replace them.. or get a little money to play with.
OH AND THE BEST THING? IT HAS A SUN ROOF. lol..

nice. i have never seen a DSG fx4 around here for sale. i see them around but not on lots. and its funny bc ive never seen one newer than 05 (rectangle fogs). did they quit production of them in DSG after 05? and yea, id definately take off the chrome and the grille. way i see it, you want chrome get a lariat w/ chrome. still has most the same stuff as fx4 but chrome and a little fancier. your front cup holder inserts are missing. lol. and is that a spray in liner? i was reading up on the new superdutys and fords gonna offer a factory spray in liner. not sure if its all trucks or not though.
also kinna sucks it has the 17s instead of the 18s, but at least tires are cheaper

For me, first things I would do...
Ditch the chrome, bugshield, mudflaps and step bars, since that doesn't cost anything, and you can sell that stuff. Then I would run a different exhaust but that's me. Duals straight out the back are pretty hillbilly but a lot of people like that. haha. I don't mind the grille so much, not my taste but I think it looks alright.
I am actually about 90% sure there is a leveling kit on there already, some sort of spacer up front but I could be wrong. I bet he had different tires and wheels on there, and he bought someone else's used 17s to throw on before trading it. Looks like aftermarket speakers too.
Still, it looks like a nice truck. Part of buying a used car is sometimes dealing with another persons mods. The only car I bought that wasn't bone stock was the Jetta.
