Just an idea
Story:
About a week ago my brother was moving my Superduty out of the driveway while he was cutting grass so he didn't spray it with rocks. He turned around and was going up the hill into the back yard. The hill slopes a little bit from left to right. He was putting it in 4wd so he didnt tear up the yard. Well it rolled back a bit as he let off the brake and caught the mirror on my Dodge company truck. The mirror missed my bed but in doing so it caught the passenger cab corner above the bed and put a heck of a dent in it. My parents are paying to have that fixed (he is 16) and I had nothing to do with it. It goes to the body shop this week. Idea: There are a few scratches and a couple small dents from the P/O so I have decided to see how much it will be to get those fixed and painted while the guy fixes my cab. In doing that I was thinking about possibly getting the full truck repainted and maybe losing the tan on the bottom. I was thinking about having the whole truck painted one color (Original Chestnut color). I really like how Ryans KR is painted and its a bit different. Any opinions or ideas? |
seems costly. If you have the money to repaint your truck on a whim go do it.

post pics of your truck no idea what it looks like

Repainting a WHOLE truck is expensive. i'd just go for fixing the scratches since your already there. |

Damage: Dent in cab. Black mark about 6-8 inches not show in photo, Passenger mirror has a huge black mark on the paint https://www.ranger-forums.com/attach...ine=1315357091 Whole truck: https://www.ranger-forums.com/attach...ine=1315357091 |
Dang that sucks!
You can ditch the two tone, it definitely makes the KR unique. Some people don't seem to recognize it as a KR though without the two tone. I had a guy come up to me at the gas station a few weeks ago and ask how much it cost to convert my truck to a KR lol, he assumed because it didn't have the two tone that it was not a real one. Either way, if you can swing the cost it sure makes it stand out from the rest IMO. |
Ya its just idea is all. Wanted opinions.

Save the money, add bigger tires
|
i wouldn't, if i was you.. its a truck- its gonna be scratched and dented. sure fix the dent but i wouldn't worry about the rest to much
you can always get someone to photoshop your truck solid, to see if you like it.. i prefer the 2 tone |
Can't they just paint the bottom and fade it versus painting the whole truck? And sucks about the damage!
|
Thats what i had in mind Adam.
Cole that was an old pic with completely worn tires. Ben if you would have seen my old truck and how bad the body was dented/rusted and scratched, you would see i don't mind. Yes i use this thing as a truck and yes it will have scratches, but it's the nicest truck i have ever owned and I'd like to keep it that way. I will haul anything in my truck. All the other dents are noticeable, large scratch on drivers side fender, chipped up mirrors and hood. If one is going to be fixed I might as well address the other issues. Not cheap? It's a diesel, what is cheap about it? :-) |
Fair enough. Seeing how you use it as a truck, which is great, I would get that fixed and get the rest of the truck buffed out. It will look great.

i still like the 2 tone more tho  |
I always thought the stock King Ranch two tone looked like an old man's truck. Something about that tan color on the bottom never really did it for me. Other colors on the bottom look pretty good, but all the KRs had that light tan on the bottom, never cared for it.
