My truck decided to hump a cobalt..
Well last night, driving home i rear-ended a cobalt. Long story short, i slammed on my breaks, and it took a split second for my breaks to kick in. couldnt swerve, there was someone next to me so i had no where to go.
what sucks is just last week i up'ed my deductable to 1k instead of 500 to try and save some money lmao.. owell everything happens for a reason, everyone was ok, neither of the air bags deployed thank god..

GLAD everybody was OK!
Been there done that, and that's why I HATE ABS!
I rearend a Nissan 4x4 back in the mid 90's for just that reason....I slammed on my brakes, they grabbed for second, then released, and I hit em.
On any of our late model cars, if it's an option & not a std. equipment thing, I elect NOT TO HAVE EM!!!

what are you talking about? i have full coverage. I pay 1K dollars and they pick up the rest of the bill, as long as it doesnt exceed 18K dollars, which i SERIOUSLY doubt this is 18K dollars worth of damage. If it is, its totalled..

Yes, generally you can get an option to settle on price (get a few quotes) and they will write you a check. Then you can take it to whatever shop you want, buy whatever parts you want, etc. You could buy a matching bumper from a junkyard, aftermarket bumper, whatever. If nothing else, at least get a bumper with round fogs!

lol i had no idea i could do that! So how should i go about this? call the insurance company and have the adjuster come out first, or take it to a few different shops first? I dont really want to drive it as the brakes are VERY iffy right now and that bumper is still cutting into the tire quite a bit
