Icon9 I'm torn on what to do

So my dad passed away back in march and I inherited his truck. I always new I would get it. However since he passed away i've hardly driven it or even messed with it. Every time I drive it. It just brings back memories of my dad. Which isn't bad, but at the same time makes me not want to drive it. The last 2 years of my dads life was hard to deal with him being sick and almost dying a couple of times. I guess seeing it or driving it just kinda makes it hard to cope with the fact he's not here any more. I just dont know what to do. I know it takes time to deal with a death that close to you, but right now I kinda feel like having that truck around is making it harder to let my dad go in the way I need too. I've been back and forth on selling it or not and I just dont know what to do. I know some people might thing its stupid struggling over a decision like this, but it's just not an easy one to make. It's been 6 months since we lost him and I still cant make up my mind of what to do. I tried to see if I could just keep it in the family, but the only real option is my sister and she doesn't want it. So I figured maybe I could get some advice from everyone on here.

Sonic04Edge,
Sometimes it is a hard thing deciding what to do with something that reminds you of someone but think about what your Dad would have done with it.
My thought would be to decide if you need it, want it or just plain can’t stand it if someone else is driving your Dad’s Truck, then make a decision on what is the correct path for you.

I always believe once you have taken time to think about and make a decision it will be the right one for you and if you do sell it then some one will be getting use out of it instead of seeing it sit there and rot away.
If there is a need to keep it then you will find a way.

Sorry for your loss, think hard and your Dad will help you decide.

ltr,

I know exactly what you mean Mike. Seeing my dads truck in the driveway for the 2 years we had it before we sold it was exactly like that. It does get better though, in the end it still never ended up being used. Its just going to be one of those hard decisions your going to have to make.

i might get flamed for this but please i'm not trying to be a dink or rude. moreso trying to help prevent something that could develop over time.

i think you should sell it. if you start keeping everything that was his or everythign that he had ties to you might end up becoming a hoarder. you don't want to let things go because you don't want to loose the memory of him. you had a strong bond with your father, no one can take that away from you. this truck is just that. a truck. it just happened to be the one he drove. if seeing another person driving it might bother you, try and sell outside of your county or state. are there any relatives that might be able to help with this?

post an add on craigslist or auto trader outside of your home area if you don't have any out of area or even try on here or another f-150 forum.

again i meant no disrepect so please do not take it that way.
