Icon5 Best programmer for f150?

Hey guys I am looking into getting a programmer for the f150 and wanted to know what you think is the best on the market? F150 could use a little help in the performance department lol.

Custom tunes or canned? I would say for custom tunes gryphon or xcal, for canned tunes edge evo or diablsport predator

the Gryphon by power hungry perfomance is the most popular one on the F-150 sites im on. Power Hungry Performance - Feed your hunger for POWER! its the same tuner as the edge but they are custom tuned. i will be sending my edge out to them soon to have them custom tune it for me.

It might take about 4 years to get custom tunes from PHP, but everyone loves them (once they get them, that is).
In the meantime, when you buy one of their tuners it comes with the canned tunes and you wait for the custom tunes. That is what I would do.
I had someone else tune my F150 because I needed a custom tune (didn't want to wait for months) and I already had an xcal 2.

PHP doesn't do tuning for 97-03 trucks anymore so your SOL in that department. Troyer does a lot of tuning for the F150s but they also will take forever

according to there site they still sell new tuners and tunes for that truck but they just wont convert anymore used edges for that year because of a cable issue.

yeah who knows, they do seem like a bunch of whiners so maybe its changed again. plus there are so many PHP fanboys on F150online you cant ever say anything criticizing PHP without getting banned practically. i stopped hanging out on that site anyways, i spend most of my time at F150forum, seems to be a more mature membership there.

I check into f150online about once a month, and only a couple of forums. It is super gay over there. Too many retarded dude-brahs.
VMP tuning did my F150 and I have been happy with it. I do wish to change a thing or two since re-gearing, but it's only nitpicking stuff. Mostly light-mid throttle 1-2 shift, I want it to hold onto first for longer. Really it is only because of turning from a side street with the locker. I got my custom tunes emailed in a few days.

I got my Edge sent to them and had it back with custom tunes in pretty much a month exactly. I think Zach had to wait 2 months for his and he ordered a Gryphon straight from them.

the 1-2 shift is annoying with my edge too. unless im into the throttle hard it shifts way to early. hell just cruising around in a parking lot it will be in 2nd gear.

they are so PHP because PHP deserves it. I talked to Bill once, great guy willing to help out in anyway possible, that being said I still sold my tuner and bought a Spartan only 2 weeks after spending 400 to have the gryphon work on my Superduty. haha.

i have a 97 f150 with the 4.6. sct livewire is the best one i think. you can adjust it with you sending it in or getting tunes for the small things but there not cheap. i know people what have them for diffrent fords and they all love em

Yeah I would go with VMP if you were doing the SCT route. They're 10x faster than Troyer is and I haven't heard a bad thing yet.

Yeah we all had good luck with them. they are fast and if you have and questions about your setup and are not sure about parts that you should get they are very good and showing you the right ones.

And here in michigan there is pauls high performance and there are sct dyno tuner and mostly to fords and sct. i know someone who was talking to him about his mustang with a custom turbo kit that we put on it.
