Ok as you all know i have been looking for a good time for another truck. This is where i am at. Ok oue electric company out of b-more (BG&E) I will be taking a test to get in to be a "lineman". Im pretty much in because the teacher that will train me i have known all my life and my dad longer. But besides the point I will be needing to get 2 automobiles. The drive one way will be bout 50 miles. So i figure to go get a DD, Like and acura/honda, and than have a nice 4x4. I just don't know what it is with the trcuk. I get in these moods of not wanting it anymore and wanting something else. I don't want anything full size. I like the mid-size trucks. om my ? is, should I sell the truck, buy a daily driver, than when time is right get a newer/used truck and lift it? (Like Zabeards, I'm in love with the truck) I was thinking between a jeep,Z-r2,ranger, maybe a toyota. I hate this crap!

 

i would get a ranger or a yota.

at he same time your truck has potential to be a good off-roader. unless that isnt what you want? I mean its kinda hard to offroad a newer vehical, dont you think?

 

newer vehical i understand. I could be fit for a all show no go. Imean thats why im pulling hair out! what to do!? Been doing this for months!

Edit: I mean if I keep the truck, I would do a 5.0 engine swap, gears, new paint job, bigger lift, and bigger tires. Then when i look at it, I'll be making payments either way.

 

then get a new truck, with a bigger engine. make it show

 

I say "show" But it will be like yours if i do anything yota or ford. But I would concider yours show. Dont get me wrong, I will 4 wheel just in wide open spaces! not close trails.

 

i jsut like to keep it clean, its no where near show quality.

if it was mine. Bout 4 days ago i was stopped at a light and a guy (bout 45ish) in a 04 ranger pulled up next to me and told me i had a sharp looking truck for the year it was made.. does that cout?

Ok new job= 50 miles to drive one way. That car i will use for work and get a newer/used truck to lift and add on. all show no go like above. Im not going to throw 100 or more miles a day ond a new truck when i can get a used car to do that.

you know, driving as far as you do, if you get something that only gets 18mpg your gonna hate it.

I am giving up my Element (22mgp) for my little brothers Ranger (26mpg) because I put so much damn gas in the Element it's killin me.

 

get a bike. way good gas milage, and they are way fun. As for your truck issues....I would keep your 96 until you see how you will like your new/possible job...seems to me that there was once a song called "the witchita lineman" rather depressing about how crappy a linemans job is...but then again it was written like 50 years ago...so eh..

 

a bike doesnt seem much fun in the winter months.

 

^ Yeah theyre not, nor is it safe at all, but a little import is a PITA in the winter too.... In the winter I just figured that he would be driving the ranger....but maybe not...

 

Yeah because ill be going in on kall ins in snow, sleet, rain, all the bad weather. good overtime. but i would take a litte ranger. nothing wrong with that.

 

So then get your self a bike! Alot cheaper to maintain and buy than a car, plus alot easy to store....plus if you wanted to you could plop the bike in the box of the ranger and transport it to some place that you wanna ride at, but dont wanna drive there on the bike.

Lets see you get a honda in the box of your ranger!

get a mad drug habit and let your life spiral into nothing.
