***Pulled Over***

Ok, i know the police are here to "Protect and Serve" but i am sick of being pulled over just to give them some "Excitement" during the night shift.
On to the story!

Ok well im headed home from my ex g/f's house. Its about a 10 mile journey home(around 25 min). Well i get about 2 miles from home and i hit one of the last 2 lights in my path home. So theres two left turn lanes and one right turn lane and no straight lanes. Well im in the 2nd left turn lane (the most right one) and there is a Suzuki GXR 750 in the 1st left turn lane ( the most left obviously) and an explorer behind him. Ok so, light turns green, finally, and i start off. Well my clutch needs to be replaced soon so i obviously can't take off like the Suzuki can. Well its about a mile and a half to the next light where ill be making my right turn to head towards my neighborhood. Ok well the bike TOOK OFF, and i mean took off. Border line wheelie take off. Well he got about half way there and me and the explorer are taggin behind. As i cruise up to the light i see a police car on the opposite side of the road in the turn lane. So i cruise up to the light and it turns green for us, so i make my turn, no need to stop, its green. Well as i make the turn i see another cop on the road im turning on going the opposite direction in the turn lane, and he give me and EVIL look. I knew i was getting pulled over when he looked at me like that, i just got that feeling. I have been pulled over like 9 times (including this one) and i have 4 tickets ( 7 pts ), so believe mei know the feeling. Well anyway its about 1:30 am by now and im tired and wanna go to bed. Well im crusin down towards my neighborhood, id say its about 3/4 of a mile from the last turn. Well i wasnt suprised when i saw one set of crown victoria headlights comming up on me, mighty quick i might add, and shortly after that i saw a second set headed up behind him. Well i have been pulled over at the entrance to my neighborhood before and because i live in a gated community, if i pass the gates they cant stop me. Well i put my blinker on, because i knew i was getting something so i didnt want to add to it. No sooner does my blinker light up, he hits the lights. So of course i stop, shut the truck off(cuz $3.03 a gallon aint gettin wasted on this) and i just wait. Both cars stop behind me, all lit up and everything. Bastard, i mean the police officer comes up to me and doesnt say anything but "license, registration, and proof of insurance sir." So i did the "what seems to be the problem" bit as i reached for my wallet. He said "I'll be glad to get into it once you give me your information". At this point im like WTF did i do? So i hand him my stuff and he says "Do you know what the speed limit is on Southern Blvd.? Well i travel this road many times daily and i said yes i do sir, 55. He procedes to tell me i was doing 71. I immediatly protest. He says "Sir there is no way around this, your getting a ticket." So in my head in like "**** this". I said "sir do you have the gun?" and he tries to be Mr. Funny Pants and says "Yes, i have 3 guns actually, which one would you like to see? The hand gun, the tazer un or the radar gun." At this point im getting nervous because i cant get another ticket. If i get anotehr ticket i loose my license and on top of that im 100% positive i wasnt doing 71 mph. Well anyway i said to him "i would like to see the radar gun". and he tells me that my license is cracked and he was writing me up for that, and that my insurance card was out of date, but i have 3 of those insurance cards in my truck cuz i never threwthem away so i gave him the up to date one and he goes "Well, im going to have to write you up for the cracked license and the speeding". Again i protest and say "sir the motorcycle that was in front of me in the same lane was BOOKING, and there was no possible way i was going that fast" He said "son, the bike had to have been slowing or stopped when i clocked you", At this point i wanna punch the guy but i cant. He then told me that the guy sitting in the turn lane (other douche bag cop) clocked me at 53mph rounding the corner. YEAH ****ING RIGHT. Aint no way on 31x10.50's i was doing 53mph around a 90 degree right turn. Well i said "look i have made mistakes in my life in the past with speeding and driving dumb, but i know for SURE i wasnt speeding, my father works for the sherriffs office and i know better than to speed." He asked me what department and i told him and he goes " Ok heres what im gonna do, the other guy still wants to talk to yo about the 53 mph aroudn that corner but as for me, im gonna write you a warning for the spped and then a fix it ticket for the license being cracked" I asked him how he could clock me at that speed if i wasnt going that fast. He told me his radar gun pickes up the fastest closest object to him, which would have been the bike. And he kinda looked at me like "OHHHHHH" and said "ill be right back" So i said "alright" And the bastard walked off into the night towards his flashy light machine. I guess he checked out if my dad did work for the sherriffs office and handed my **** to the other officer who came up to me and he shined his flash light in my eyes and says "Do you feel lucky son?" and i asked him if i should and he says "Yes, the other officer decided not to ticket yu for anythign, and im not gonna write you for a 53mph corner." So now that im releaved and pee myself because i though i was loosing my license. So i drive home and im sitting in my driveway, and i remember driving home and i cannot believe that the cop would think that my truck did 53 mph around a corner first of all and that i was doing 71 instead of the bike. I know better than to speed on that road, i watch people get pulled over every night on there when i go home. Im not stupid, i watch my speed and i DONT want tickets, so i have learned to control myself. Anyway to make a REALLY long story short. I hate the way the police around here are sooo stupid. If they spent there time actually doing things the right way, they wouldnt get such bad wraps.

UGH, MAN IM PISSED!

I would sure think so. Getting hassled when he wasn't in the wrong sure seems like a valid reason to me.

all in all, I bet you're stoked on getting off...but still sucks you got the hassle.

him: young man, your license plate lights are out.

him: no problem, let me run your license. if it is clear you can head on your way.

him: no problem

I would not count on that, I don't think that is a true statement
if they are already following you, in they will come
besides if they have probable cause to enter the grounds they will
be glad you were not ticketed, sounds like one more and you are walking

You don't become untouchable when you enter a private road. If the violation was committed on the public road, they can pull you over on a private road or in your driveway if they want to. They can walk up to your house and knock on your door to hand you the ticket.

I've tried the "run and hide in the gated community because you live there" thing before and it didn't work. However, when I told him I ran the light cuz I had to pee and making me wait 15 minutes in the parking lot was gonna turn into a messy situation, he let me off with a warning. I think we all know the moral of the story, lie your *** off.

bro, gonna have to stop ya right there on that one.

Just becuase some of the uniform guys have rubbed you wrong. When you are behaving, and not breaking the law, they really have no reason to pull you over.

When you are missbehaving and breaking the law, then they will do their job and pull you over. That is why so many people hate cops, cause they only get you when your breaking the law

There is ALOT of things that go on, behind the scenes. You saying Cops are a Waster of money, time and effort..... trying living in a place w\o any cops.

Take for example, New Orleans few days ago. There were 50-100 firefighters pinned in a bellsouth building by SNIPER FIRE! WHy? because there was no police there..... no form of law....

look back on your life and think "when did a cop ever help me?" You prolly cant even think of one. (i dont want to hear other people's stories on how they did help)

well, i have had many times, where an officer has helped me.
also remember, just not uniformed officers are police too.... you have many more officers that dont wear a uniform. ie. narcotics bureau, FBI, and many many others......

The 3 times i was pulled over i tried to be as respectful as possible and all i got was a ****ty attitude back, well screw that, they are all too cocky, if one pulls out in front of me or walks in front of me, they better wish they didnt, cause im not stoping or turning.

CJ sorry about your time that got wasted last night. glad you didnt get a ticket too.
I'm not even going to waste my time explaining why this is the stupidest thing I've read in months. Anyone with their head screwed on straight knows so I don't really need to. Even people who have a poor record with the local police wouldn't go that far.

Glad to hear that went well, I'm waiting that one my self... but I know my license plate lights are out..

I'v got one like that, couple years ago I was towing a pair of jetski's back to Laughlin from Havasu and forgot to plug the trailer lights in. Getting off the freeway I cut off a trooper. Pulled me over, was very polite, walked back with him, pluged it in, he said good day, we were on our way.

Glad you didn't get stuck with something you didn't commit. I hate it when I see all these people that say "I was only speeding a little and he gaveme a ticket!" and think they dont deserve it. But its a good thing to see you were able to prove your innocense. Police are human too, they make mistakes.

They do their jobs just like everyone else. Yeah, there are a few that like to pick on people, but when the **** hits the fan, they'll be there for you. I personally agree with whatever funding is needed to keeping the local law enforcement on call. For the MOST part, these guys and gals are in this career TO protect and serve, and I have not met one yet that hasn't been respectful back to me as long as it's mutual, which it always has been. I'm not afraid of them, or mad at them, but I do respect them a great deal for dealing with the job that they do every day.

i still respect them, if a cop pulls me over talks to me whatever, ill still be a nice as i possibly can and treat them as a normal person, untill they give me an attitude. thats crap then.

but maybe its just cops in my area, sorry i disapoint ya, i might have been a little pissed when i typed that.

but why do i get this feeling that when a cop even looks at me ive done something wrong and im just sitting at the light.

maybe its just me, idk
-not to mention there attitude. ive had a cop cut me off trying to get to a speeder and almost caused another accident, another time my sister was driving my brother to school and a cop pulled a u turn right in front of her she had to slam on the brakes and swirve to the left, almost caused a head on.

you can say it was the stupidest thing if ya want, it dont bother me look what you are fireranger, your a fire man, volunteer or whatever, you get cut breaks its a fact, a cop isnt going to pull someone over because they have a light on top of there truck and if they did its a warning.(its given)

idk im gonna quit typing now, you dont really care what i have to say anyway.

sorry about the previous post im gonna edit it now...

please edit your post with my quote, or are yall gonna hold it over my head cause i said something stupid.

heh i've been pulled over twice in the last week. first time for my damn front side window tint, and the second for a slew of things; noise violation (music too loud), speeding, and changing lanes without signalling. tint was a fix-it ticket, the other cop let me off with a warning for the other ones.

A police officer in college station ran a red light trying to catch someone who was speeding and completely obliterated a motorcyclist. It happened like 3 days ago and the motorcyclist was rushed to the ICU lucky to have his life. I realize he was trying to protect and serve, but they've got to think about what the consequences might be. Him charging into an intersection to catch a speeder nearly cost a completely innocent person his life. It's an isolated incident I know, and I'm not even sure where I'm going with it.

CJ, I can't believe the cops would think you were speeding when that motorcycle was there. They were probably just too lazy to try and catch the cyclist and thought you might be an easy target. Glad you didn't put up with thier ****.

Here in Houston it is kinda hard to get pulled over there are so many people messing up you really have to be doing like 3+ things wrong.

Yeah thats what pissed me off the most. I mean i have 3 speeding tickets and i took them with outa fight, for the most part, because i know i was speeding. But let me tell you, im not about to lose my license over two lazy cops with nothing else to do. I mean it was 1:30 in the morning, there were only 3 other vehicles on the road besides the two cruisers, so it should have been obvious who was the speeder. Motorcycles have a bad wrap aournd here. I see them running from the cops all the time. The only other thing that really made me mad was that the other cop was trying to tell me i took a 90 degree turn at 53 mph. Thats would have caused an accident. Where the cop was sittng when i made the corner, if i was going that fast, i would have slammed into the side of him.

Whatever though i mean yeah im mad i got hassled but im just happy i got off completely. He could have written me on nuemorous(sp) things besides my speeding. Nothing moving violations but still, i could have got alot of other tickets if i wasnt polite with the officer.

Zach, think about what you're saying. You're giving examples of the individuals you've encoutnterd. So because you had a bad experience with a few police officers means that the other 1 million in the United States must all be usless, worthless, no good, lying, wastes of taxpayer dollars. Would you think it was fair if I knew a guy named Zach who was a total jerk and therefore assumed and publicly called you a jerk simply because your name is Zach?? I don't think so. You have to stop being so narrow minded about it. I fully acknowlege there are police officers who are just plain old jerks. I know several myself, i've had problems with them myself too. I would love nothing more than to see them get their asses handed to them because of it. However, the few that social rejects do not mean that the rest are like that, because they aren't. To use your own words, "that is a fact"

The last time a cop pulled me over he asked what the Level II meant on my truck, he had just bought an '02 FX4.

And I didn't get a ticket. and i did actually pull out in front of him and sped up to 8 miles over the limit.
