02 Ranger recall notice

Ok so I've gotten like 4 letters now from a local dealer over the last 2 years or so about an under hood fire risk. Its from somthing in the speed control, which isn't even in my truck anymore. But I was thinkn it would be funny to go in since its free and see how they react when they open the hood. What do ya think? Lol

I would love to hear the story if you do it. You just have to keep playing it as the "V8 option" until they send you home.

Based on my experience with dealers they wouldn't even know anything was unusual about the truck.
They would probably blame it on their computer system or something stupid.

being a lot older than you guys, i've seen 5.0 rangers at ford dealers (to get serviced)since 1985. meaning, i doubt it will "shock" them to see a 2002 ranger with a 5.0. they would probably have questions about the truck and it will bring the shop to a stand still.
now, if someone brought in a Focus with a 5.0 THAT would shock 'em

yeah i kept getting the recall letters too, i also have an 02, first time i took it up there they didnt have the fused harness that they put it so they just disconnected my cruise, didnt go back for a year to get the part installed, took all of 15-20 mins to do.

i say just go ahead and mess with them, try hiding something in the engine bay too, just to see what they say

Yeah I'm sure it won't be a huge shock. Just would like to see their reaction when it says 3.0 on the paper and oh wtf 5.0? Yes if I had a 5.4 like zack then yeah might get a few more wtf's

Not sure on the years but that might be the case
