ok... I THOUGHT my Ranger had a gas warning light of some sort... am I just imagining things? I've looked through the owners manual three times already, and there's no mention of it.

My BIKE has a gas fuel warning system... it even keeps track of how many miles I've riden on the reserve.... I can't imagine Ford didn't put anything primitive into the Ranger.

 

The check gauge light comes on my '03 when it gets down too low. Maybe thats what you saw.

 

Yeah its a red light that says "check gauge" thats your fuel light.

I saw that in the manual... but the needle is AT empty... shouldn't the CHECK GAGE light turn on by now?

 

Does it light up when you start your truck?

 

Sometimes, mine will come on, and then the needle will go back up a little bit and it will go off, and then maybe come back on 5 minutes later.

 

Go park on a steep hill with the nose facing downward. If it still doesnt come on, then you might have a problem
