remote starter and alarm

My remote starts have worked flawlessly for over two years now and my wife and I use them faithfully summer and winter.
I did make one small modification to the foot long antenna hidden under the dash, I spliced into the antenna and ran a wire all the way up my door frame pillar right up to my sun visor all while hiding it under the plastic trim and just left a 1 inch piece exposed for reception by the visor, my reception is amazing now!!!!
I am not sure if walmart still carries them but here is a link

My factory keyless entry/ALARM still works fine and in conjunction with my remote start.

I bought two identical remote starts from walmart just over two years ago, one for my truck and one for my wifes car, they cost $39.95 each and then looked up a MOBILE electronics person who installs stereo equipment for vehicles at your house, he charged me $75.00 each and was done in less then two hours.

Check the alarm systems from crutchfield.com.
I had one of their crimestopper alarms installed in a vehicle & it was really nice. Tons of options for remote start (I didn't use it though), door locks, window roll up, pager, etc.
I used the door lock & starter kill along with all the motion/light/shock sensors.
I think they have crime guard now instead of crimestoppers.
It was a weekend install, but well worth the work.
I'd definitely get a backup alarm battery (not a 2nd vehicle battery, just an alarm backup battery) too.
I had an alternator voltage regulator go bad & killed my battery while at work. Not only did I have a non-starting vehicle, but it had no protection until I could get it towed home.
A pager would be nice too.
