Unbolt the parking brake release
" " OBDII connector
" " lower dash panel
" " sheet metal stiffener
" " upper dash panel, inc the three screws at the top front
drop the steering wheel (if tilt)
snake panel out, while disconnecting headlight and dash dimmer connectors
unbolt the cluster, pull forward,
get shift indicator out of the way (if automatic)
unhook the three wiring connectors on back of cluster
thread the cluster out of the cavity
remove bulb carrier(s) (ccw), wiggle bulb(s) out,
reassembly is reverse of above (so sayeth Haynes)
There are a couple of steps where brute force can be used to simplify the process...
(better reserved for pick-a-part yards where re-assembly is not an object).
As can be seen, a PITA just to replace a buck-three-eighty bulb. A prudent man would replace all seven cluster illumination bulbs and be done with it. LEDs would be best if you intend to keep the Ranger for more than the next 10 years. The warning lights should last near forever.
As for the power window switches, nope, no bulbs in them.
