06 FX4 Level II review

Anybody know where I can find some good reviews on the 06 FX4 Level II's.
I've tried to google it, but either come up with overviews, or reviews for differant years.
Looking at buying an 06 so would like to brush up on my knowledge.

Its there. You have to search model reviews and consumer reviews. Also its no different than what you have. Rangers haven't changed much since 1998 when they dropped the TTB suspension and in 01 when they dropped the OHV engine

really....not much has changed on these trucks since 98...shoot..not much has really changed since 93/95. early 4.0L SOHC's have timing chain tensioner issues, by 04 they fixed the issues. all manual transmissions can pretty much need work at that snap of a finger(slave cyl mostly).

basically..what i'm trying to say, is if youve got a 98+ already, you already know the build quality and operating costs of it.

I posted an 04 FX4 Level II in another thread that i was thinking about that was $16K and the guys here said it was worth it. It had 26K miles on it. Id assume that as long as its pretty darn clean its not a bad deal. Dealer or private party?

If it is in mint condition and a clean carfax that sounds like a good price

I have an '07 Level II and I absolutely love it! Haven't had it long so I can't really give much more info. I bought mine from a Ford dealer with 53,000km(about 33K miles) for $14K Canadian... which converts to about $11K US if I converted that correctly.
Doesn't mean much for the value of it, but it also already had a spray in Line-x and folding tonneau cover, and the same dealer sold it new so I have all the maintenance records as well.

I don't think you're picking up what everyone is putting down about reviews.
The rangers have not changed in years. The FX4 Level 2 adds bilstein shocks (good), 31 spline 8.8 (good), torsen rear diff (pretty good), shiny tow hooks, 31x10.50's on 15x7's, I think two skidplates and some decals. I don't think the 06 models had manual transfer cases any more so, in my opinion, it isn't worth much more than most other models.
A few hundred bucks for new shocks, an explorer rear end (31 spline 8.8 with discs), an aussie locker and some tires will make an xlt more capable than a level 2.
$15k is a little high in my opinion...

I turned down $ 22,000 a few months back .

Hi , mine is a loaded 2006 bright red supercab 4x4 fx4 with 23,000 miles never in the sun & covered in garage never smoked in or animal passangers.
It would cost $40,000 with tax to replace my truck ! A lot of time when dad & teen aged son spot my fx4 with the s.s. grill guard & factory bed rails they will follow an wind up begging to buy my supercab. It is new . I special ordered this truck. I might sell one day ? Loc
