2004 ford ranger with 33s?

Hello guys, I have a 2004 Ford Ranger XLT 4x2 and I'm looking to put some 33s on it. I've got a few questions first though. I am looking at getting the camburg 5.5 in. suspension performance kit. Will this be enough lift to fit 33s on my ranger? The guy at my local shop, 4 wheel parts, said I will need another 3 in. body lift to fit 33s. 8.5 in. of lift seems a little extensive for 33s but that is why I am asking.

You won't need a body lift on top of the Camburg lift if all you want are 33s. However, for the extra $150-200 you would spend to get a body lift, you could have 35s. Your call. Either one by itself will get you to 33s though.

NEVER! Get a body lift. With the 5.5 should clear 33. Depending on back spacing etc. If not, glass... but never do a body lift.

Why should he, or anyone else, "NEVER" get a body lift?

NEVER! listen to this guys advice. Nothing wrong with a body lift. Cheap way to bigger tires with no drawbacks (other than cosmetic but not really on a ranger).

To answer the OPs question, either a body lift or the camburg 5.5 will get you 33s.
