OEM or aftermarket clutch?
Clutch took a crap in my 05 ranger 4.0 4x4. I had it towed to aamco. They told me the ford OEM parts may be rebuilt parts. Should I stick with OEM or go with aftermarket?
Since they have to drop the trans i'm just going to have them replace absolutely everything. Master and slave cylinder, re-surface fly wheel, pressure plate, throw out bearing, everything. I go wheeling in really remote places all alone so I am lucky this happened in my driveway and not in the desert.
I'm also open to the idea of stronger, beefed up, high performance, aftermarket parts.
Obviously I abuse the heck out of my truck wheeling while loaded down with camping gear. Truck has 90,000 and I estimate easily 25,000 miles of that is crawling in 4 low and absolutely taking it to the limit of a stock truck. Surprised it has never let me down with the way I abuse it. I even survived imogene pass in CO.
