Need help from the FL guys (4x4 Shop to do SFA)
I am going to put hte truck on D44 and make it 4wd (I can do 4wd swap myself, I'm buying a new transmission off ebay probably, doing the B2 Tcase from a tranny shop nearby).
I want about 10-16 more inches of lift than I have right now. It will be on 38.5x15 boggers (it may have DD tires, who knows at this point), and I want some room to flex them out.
I like the setup 2002fx4 had on his truck, but other than that, I just need a picture to show a shop.
I'm just asking for some phone numbers of shops that HAVE DONE the swap before to a ranger. I want an experienced welder/fab tech and I am willing to pay for that.
I'm trying to keep it local so I won't have to tow it too far when it's done. I was thinking like tampa/orlando would be fine. If you FL guys know of any good shops LMK.
I talked to one shop already, they want 3k in labor. I can get the parts for about 1000-1500...but then I'm reaching 6k after making it 4x4. I'd rather spend 1k in labor and 2k in parts :)
5.13 gears on leafs with spool in the front and powertrax in the rear, probably 16" wagoneer lift springs and 6" chevy lift springs...maybe 8" chevy lift springs. Toyota steering box, the normal stuff...I don't need the semantics worked out, I just need a decent shop.
Ray, I know I talked to you about rodney's truck, but he HAS to know people.
This truck will be run in the mud, but i want to be able to clean it up and daily drive it.

Edit: now one part of me wants to NOT do this to my truck...but hell, I wish i could do it MYSELF!!!
I might as well just slap some 36/7's on there and call her done...at this point I'm ready for a 4x4 atv It's goign to cost the same and my truck still has to be daily driven.
I want to at least TRY to collect parts to do this. I want a big *** truck. Mine is really small right now.

Right now I'm getting pretty aggrivated with this whole thing. It's becoming a huge hassle and I haven't even touched the truck.
I talked to my buddy who is friends with the owner of another 4x4 shop. He said 4k in labor and about 2k parts for the dana 44, but he would only do it if I did the 9" rear and made it 4wd. Then I had to put a huge *** sticker on my tailgate from his shop.
Another shop around me said they wouldn't touch a ranger
A jeep shop (common for axle swaps) said they would do it for 5k including parts/labor and that is still 2wd!!!
I'm about to say f'it. I can't find a good price at all. I am throwing 37's, eaton locker, 4.88's, a winch, linex, and toppeer on this bad boy and start getting her dirty again!!!
I actually don't know if I want the topper for sure yet...but at least linex. I think the topper might be more of a hassle than anything just for the fact that mud will probably get in it through the stake holes...who knows though.
Might as well close this thread!!! I'm really aggrivated.

I trust ryans truck.
The b2 is just a mud machine...doesn't see the road, hence the reason it wasn't built right. But thats not what this thread is about...If you want to PM me, we can talk bout it, I've seen ryans truck a few times, I know how they work, I trust it.
Only problem with me having robbie do it is that is...nothing. I just need to work things out with them up there. I have all the time in the world now (I'm just going to school) but 1/2 the problem is finding parts, the other 1/2 is getting the money to buy those parts :)
