Mr Higgs, I don't know ya.. but I defineately LOVE YOUR STYLE!!
Put up or shut up is something I respect!
btw, in a pavement pull off the first guy to get fwd movement is gonna win nearly everytime. It's just physics. Having a clutch and knowing how to use it is a key part in getting things to *go your way*.

Thanks alot Rich!
He wouldnt talk to me today or anyone else at school, he is pretty butt hurt about it.
If you are going to talk smack, be prepared to back it up
I had a 99 F-250 7.3 (410hp/986tq) and a guy was talking smack about it with his cummins. We pulled in a parking lot by my house and he had one rear hook on his passenger side frame rail, he was tugging me while i had my foot on the brake spooling up and tweaked his frame so bad that the cab forever touches the frame on one side. Needless to say, once the turbo kicked in (38psi) i drug him back through the sub division, almost 1/8 mile before i let off...he never talked smack again.
Every vehicle i have ever had gets ripped on, because of the physical size of the owner i beleive, but i always have walked away from the s*** talkers smiling

SOHC having to SCREAM to make power just like any top cam motor.. no thanks.. timing chains timing chains timing chains.... < there i said it...
I'll take my good old push rod motor... but then again i am REALLY ****ed up i would rather have a flat head style like an old flathead 105hp motor...

This thread isnt going to turn into a 3.0 v.s 4.0 pissing match. Im perfectly content with my 3.0 especially getting 22mpg city with 33's and 4:10's
i showed the SOHC what was up, i may have had some advantages but it shut him up
sometimes i wonder why i post anything, some peoples egos around here are so large, they belong on a dodge ram forum

I'm not starting a pissing match I just don't see how the SOHC is a bad motor. Yes the timing chains are a problem but guess what, I didn't design it. And I don't consider 3000 RPM screaming. If the 3.0 was such a good motor then why was it phased out?
Oh and you showed the driver what's up not the engine. A similar equipped 4.0 would have dragged you across town.

Well I'm not bagging on the 3.0 either. My buddy has a 3.0. It runs on 35s but its geared for it. It a quick little truck and it does well offroad. But I just have done some incredible things with my 4.0 so I guess I'm riding on a bit of a cloud. Oh and I always like the sound of the 3.0 over the 4.0. It almost sounds like a v8 with the proper exhaust.

looks like u got the jump on his...either inexperienced driver or slow reaction. u are also taller which gives u better leverage and u obviously have wider tires which equals more traction.
leverage and traction win tug offs...i dont think u won because of the 3.0 i think u won because u have leverage and traction on ur side. try again with a similiar to urs but in a 4.SOHC.

so race cars should use skinny tires? or factory performance cars should come with 4" wide tires because it has less weight spread out?
why is it, when i went from 235/75/15s on my 93 F-150 to 33x12.50x15s i couldnt break em loose like the stock size? i thought the whole point of a wider tire was more contact patch to spread out the weight distribution more?
then u go on to say, if the other guy would have had 28x40 he would loose? do u mean the 3.0 would loose? because u just contradicted urself.
also to the OP, im not bagging on ur truck. just saying u had an advantage over him that is why u won. that is why in sled pulls all hitches need to be within x amount distance to keep things equal.
