Seafoam help
Hi, I just tried to seafoam my truck and something went wrong. First of all I have a 1999 2.5L ranger with 142,000 miles on it. I was trying to put the seafoam through the brake booster vacuum line, but when I went to start up my truck it died. The vacuum line was disconnected and after the third start I could smell a burning smell. I followed the directions on the can and I researched on here a bit before i did it and I still messed it up. So my question is, what did I do wrong?

Alex, you have to start your truck first with the vaccum line Connected. Once the truck is running at idle, then you disconnect the vaccum line, put your finger over it to keep the truck from stalling out. Then little by little use the vaccum line to suck the seafoam up. Suck some up, then put your finger over the line again. Suck some up, apply your finger. It takes awhile. Too much at one time, will cause your truck to stall out and die, so you have to be patient. Hope this helps man.

make sure that once you have gotten all the seafoam in the truck , you connect the line back up and shut the truck off for 15min...let it soak...then after 15min start the truck up (remember to hook the vaccum line back up) and let it idle for awhile (mine was about 15min) then go drive it around for a bit....it's gonna smoke until it burns all the carbon crap up.
