is there some secret to getting the lower tailgate hinges off??

got the upper latches off, but need to get the lower ones off that the tailgate rotates on. im super close to stripping the fvckers out. they are TIGHT

already sprayed a lot of pb blaster in there. im close to just grabbing the grinder and cutting the bastards off

doesn't help that they are torx bolts. hate that ****.

lol mine just pops off. i know on the right side its on a weird hinge but on mine if u just pull it it comes off then on the left side just pull it to the right after u get the right side off and its completely off

Take the dremel and cut a big line in it. Then get a bigass flat head and take it out!

Make the bolts warm and by warm I mean Hot...then loosen.

This will sound odd but TIGHTEN the bolt just a little, hit it with a hammer, then try and turn them out. Heat will help too. You need to shock the threads cause they most likely are rusted in or have loctite on them. The key is to break the rust bond with the metal

they had red locktite on them

gave em some heat and they came right out :)

Lol thought so. Red loctite always has to be heated

something to rember almost every body bolt ford installs has locktite on it also all the frame and susp bolts have it too
