I plan on buying wheels as soon as I can decide on which ones.I want to go with a Black wheel to match the trim of my truck and also because I wanted to go a utilitarian route with my latest Ranger(4cyl. XL).Right now I am leaning towards Mickey Thompson Ultra Classic II in 15x8. The one I'm looking at has 3 5/16 backspacing. Is that too much backspacing?I have the option of 4" or 4 1/4". I want them to protude ever so slightly from the truck.
My next question is tire size.My truck is new so I want to get a set of snowtires for the factory wheels and use my factory tires for the new wheels. The MT's wheels are an inch wider. Will it be okay to use the factory tires on them? I can't seem to find a slightly wider tire for a light truck.Gas mileage is important to me that's why I don't want to have a overall smaller diameter wheel/tire as my truck has 3:73 final gears now.I wish I had gotten higher gears.
Any and all suggestions will be appreciated.Thanks.
