will this be a problem? exhaust ?

The gasket in the joint between the pipes is shot and I'm looking to get a new cat back system. My question is, will the flange on the pipe out of the cat cause installation problems for me? It's in pretty bad shape. Should I take the truck to an exhaust guy? Thanks

nah, just take a grinder or a reciprocating saw to the bolt right in between the two flanges and go to town. shouldnt take much.

^ thats some serious cancer. hope the rest of the frame and body arent like that! You can grind the bolt right off or vise grip the bolt and run it out. Advance auto and autoz both carry my flange (2000 year) so if there is a problem it wont be hard to fix

thats the exhaust, always gonna look worse than the rest of the truck, generally lower and a lot less rigid than the frame etc.

cool, thanks for the advice! Yeah the rest of the truck is ok. This part of the exhaust is really the only reason it's getting replaced, that's what using too much road salt will do for ya!

oh yeah I forgot about yalls winter ice. Bacause my rang is 165K and near the ocean and looks nothing at all like that. she's rusty but not that bad. But yeah, with a little ingenuity youll get the new pipes on. may I ask if its dual or single?

you guys don't happen to know what size bolts those are for the stock exhaust, do you? Or will those be included in a kit? Thanks again. I'd like to get duals, but the cash flow isn't going to provide for that so I think I'm going with this Dynomax cat back system:

I cut the pipe out, install new flanges, weld the pipe back on, then nut n bolt it together with common 3/8x16 bolts.

Any muffler shop can fix it for you for around $50-80.
