New Job! My truck is now my office!
Tomorrow I start my own collection route for Comcast. I routed out tomorrow's 43 stops on Microsoft Streets & Travel, for a total of 61 miles. I assume I will be leaving the truck running pretty much all day, no reason to start it 50+ times a day, right? I got my ladder rack put on yesterday, my inverter hooked up to plug my laptop in, and a 40 gal rubber-maid tub in the bed to store the digital boxes.
I think it is going to be a sweet job. All of the guys there have made between $800-1500 per week all year, minus taxes and vehicle expenses, still equals a good weeks pay. I expect to drive ~250 miles per week, so the ranger is going to be working hard.
Does anyone else use their truck all day at work?

Sounds nice.
I use my truck when we need to haul loose stuff. THe smaller chuncks of busted up concrete, all the cut offs from our form wood etc etc.
My work supplies me with a company truck an a gas card so I tend to use that unless its that lil loose stuff as my company truck is a flatbed. Still I'm not goona go beatin up my truck unless necessary since that service truck is sitting there soley for my use.

Yeah dealing with people sucks but that kind of mileage isn't horrible, it is the speed bumps that will kill your shocks quicker (not like in 3 months, but still at a more advanced rate) going in and out of all the apartment complexes. I hate setting up cable, all of the BS install and one-time fees and some sketch guy to come in your house to put a box on the floor and screw it into the wall and stick his hand out for a check. At least you speak English. That is my little rant against cable companies and the people they contract out to do the b!tch work.
