Why is my truck over heating

My ranger is over heating and i don't know why. I'll drive it for 10 minutes then it'll just shut off. What could it be?

Can we have some more information? what year? what motor? does it do anything before shutting off? have you check the antifreeze? there are too many variables here, you need to shed some more light on the situation.

Basically every single year I put cardboard in front of the radiator for the winter and then forget to take it out in the spring and my truck gets hot...just throwing that out there haha

Have you ever flushed the coolant or had the thermostat changed?

Start with the simple stuff.

Check/change your thermostat first.
