Icon13 Accidentá

So Monday morning I was driving through traffic to get to work when I decided to look down at my phone real quick, lucky for me, when I looked down the rest of the freeway decided to SLAM on their brakes. There was allready traffic, so I wasn't going faster than 25 mph. So I rear ended an older model chrysler 300. Dented his bumper and chipped the paint all off. My bumper is all bent and funny looking. But I got lucky ( either he didn't have insurance or a license) because he just wanted to leave and not have anything to do with it haha, so I got off the hook! Except my bumper :( and another good point is my grill was safe.

You're screwed.
Whenever you rearend some one , even though it's your fault , call the law and get an accident report.
This guy could come back on you with :
Leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident
Property damage
Medical problems arising from said accident

And you have nothing to back you up in court.
At least a police report will detail whether there were any injuries or not and exactly how much damage was actually done to both vehicles.

^ must have never paid higher insurance premiums due to a wreck.

you came out alright man!

whenever someone hits me (usually my hitch) and they dont wanna call the piggies i ask them how much they have on them (cash) we agree on an amount.. they pay, we leave. life is good.

You're lucky your airbags didn't go off - that would have been very expensive.

yea but unless you hit specifically where the sensors are (behind the grill inside the framehorn or in the frame itself they wont deploy. i know this because ive had 2 accidents on the left side going 25+ and my bag didnt deploy.

mitch its time for that prerunner bumper!

at least up here in ontario, if the person who was hit wants to make a claim against you, he/she has only one year from the date of the incident. after that they cannot make a claim to their insurance company.
i had an accident about 5-6 years ago, i acctually called my agent and she suggest if i had the money to go under the table. i asked about how long they would have if they wanted to make a claim and that's what i was told.
i went under the table and paid the $750 for a new rear bumper and paintwork. mine was fine and i didn't have airbags to worry about.
