2003 Body fit on a 93-97 Frame?

I can get a hold of a straight 93-97 Frame (which I think are all the same)

Will my Truck body, engine, trans all bolt onto this frame with little modifications? Both extended cabs.

Looks like I can get it for about 150 bucks.

Most people know my frame is bent which is why I am considering this.

Lets hear some feedback

I do believe that your cab and etc. will fit. The only thing you MIGHT have to do is use the 4.0 SOHC engine mounts or maybe the 4.0 SOHC crossmember, but that wouldn't be hard.

from experence i will say this...the gas tank harness is different...the entire rear half of the woring of the frame is also different...so you will have to swap the harness also..the engine mounts are going to be tricky because they are staggared instead like the 4.0l they are directly across from each other and not staggered..but if you can sas a truck you can swap the frames pretty easy

Well he is running a fuel cell in the area where the spare tire is susposed to go, and his truck is a 4.0. I would say if he is swapping the bodies, he will swap the wiring harness so his engine and trans will work.

Which means that when he transfers the solid axle Dana 44 over, he can use a '97 steering box and re-do his steering (his current steering box is on the outside of the frame). there will also be less clean up on the frame for his coil buckets he has now.

first 1993-1994 are its own bread and wont work...

second 1995-1997 the whole front half of the frame is 100% different and your frame would have to be graphed on...

best thing would be a 1998-2008

What part of his frame would have to be graphed on....all of his suspension is completely custom, so that isn't a worry. His fuel setup is 100% not close to stock and a 4.0 SOHC will bolt into place of a 4.0 OHV. The transmission crossmembers are in the same location.

Cab mounts and wheel base is the same in the '93+ extended cab Rangers. The only thing he MIGHT have to move is the rear cab mount (I would say that would be easy for someone who has built a complete custom suspension). Bed bolts are in the same location.

A '93-'97 frame would be really nice for someone with a '98+ doing a SAS since the '93-'97 frame is already setup with a steering box on the inside of the frame rail.

I don't understand why it wont work and no one has given a proper reason why it wont.

REMEMBER, Beard's truck is NOT stock.

yes i know his truck isnt stock but i know where the motor mounts on the 1995-1997 is different then his.. so is that main engine cross member is different..

if its a 1993-1994 dont get it.. it is different then the 1995-1997..

the 93-94 is one piece where as 1995-08 is 2...

yea '95+ is better because of the 2 piece.

There are numerous people who have swapped in the 4.0 SOHC for the 4.0 OHV with only changing the engine mounts to the SOHC engine mounts...

oh on the what needs to graphed on is the front half of the frame is 100% different Maurice.. i cant believe you dont remember.

the 3rd gen is a perferated front frame half that us ment to crush. the 2003 isnt.. also the bumper supports are not at all the same and the front half of the 3rd gen is actually shorter then the 2003..

and on the last note Maurice drop the "lawyer" attitude. idk whats with you this past week or so but your not the fight with everyone lawyer here. stop it now its getting old

swapping motors and swapping motor/cab are completely different..

best thing for him to do because he has to change so much of the front is basically build a whole new frame at this point and just start over

Zach there has been numerous people put a '03+ front end on a '93+ truck. Beard wouldn't need to do any modifications to a '95-'97 frame to get his '03 body, engine, trans, and suspension setup to work; the cabs are the same in '03 (minus the 4 door's) as the '93+ Rangers.

How the frame reacts during an impact has nothing to do with the body fitting.

He would be better off with the Ranger steering box on the inside of the frame anyways. It would protect the steering box from foreign debris while off roading.

where the bumper mounts is different (bracketry) and the older trucks are 125" wheelbase and 98+ are 126" if that makes a difference

Guys all I need to know is if the engine will fit and if the cab will bolt on. all of the other junk is nothing.

1 dont worry about the SAS
2 dont worry about the steering
3 dont worry about the fuel setup
