Thanks. I had a choice between the Uniroyals, Cheap Firestones or cheapo tires from China. Time was of the essence so I wasn't able to shop much for tires...I feel I made the best choice and really like the tires a lot, they handle very well, are quiet on the freeway, and feel very safe and dependable. Years ago I used to build control panels for Uniroyal factories, so I felt good about doing business with them.

I checked them out on the internet and Uniroyal Laredo owners rated the tires at 4.5 out of 5 stars.

One more thing, Uniroyal I believe is owned by the Michelin tire company.

Any reason you didn't go with bigger tires?

No reason to. I don't do off roading, I'm not looking for the monster truck look, I just want a dependable daily driver. I also don't want bigger tires or a lift because right now my truck is easy for me to get in and out of. I have a bad back and this is important to me. Bigger tires would mean more difficulty for me to get in and out of it. I have a friend who has a high Silverado...I don't like it at all. Ya need a ladder just to get into the bed....Not to mention the added cost of bigger tires...I just don't need them . I'm very happy with these.

Another thing I don't like about bigger tires is the road noise when driving on the freeway...I don't want my Ranger to sound like a semi....

These tires are very practical. I've read reviews were some people are getting 100,000-130,000 miles on one set, and they still have tread on them. Uniroyal's warranty is about 50,000 but they recommend replacing them after 6 years, which is about right per Ford Motor's company's policy on replacing tires. After 6 years tires tend to start to dry rot and can blow out easily. My old tires were about 6 years old and were starting to have problems holding air. They also showed signs of the rubber cracking which told me it was time to get new tires.

Driving the truck now is a joy, I can feel the difference in how it handles. Very nicely !! Like a new truck !! I'm sold on these tires now that I've driven on them for a while. Nice and quiet on the freeway...sure stopping...just all around better handling.

Sounds like a good choice though I'm curious about their grip on wet roads.

I drove it on wet roads the other day...there was no problem. I felt I had complete control over the truck the whole time. Even braking was smooth.

Thanks. I insisted on tires with white lettering as I think they look better than black walls. For a daily driver they're fine. Actually more than fine, they're safe too. Safety was my biggest concern. I feel very safe with these tires.
