4 Wheel Parts----Bad Press/Lawsuits?

I read something on some other forums about 4 Wheel Parts being scammers and basically ripping people off when they can. Has anyone had any experience with them or these issues?

There is 1 4WP here in Northern Ohio and I've been in a few times and usually leave without buying anything because their prices aren't that great and their selection is the same as other places. Anywho I just figured this is something that we should discuss or at least make people aware of a possible problem.

Ya i read alot on ripoffreport.com a few days ago. About procomp tires tread seperating from the tire in less than 5000 miles, and 4WP and procomp won't warrany the tire. They raise the shipping price when they go on buy 3 get one free.

LMFAO

if y'all believe everything you read online you should re-evaulate yourself. If you were a store would you warranty another company's product if you sold it? u buy a computer from Best buy... who do you call for warranty? HP, Compaw etc... not Best Buy....

I don't think we should discuss ignorant people making dumbass claims online....

best buy will warranty other manufacturer's parts. I bought a 4 year warranty for my stereo (alpine), amp (alpine) and speakers (pioneer) and if ANYTHING short of a pencil going through them or being smashed with a hammer, they will repair/replace it - no questions asked.

not 100% sure about their computers, but i know it works like that for stereos.

Wow such a viscious reply...All I'm trying to do is make people aware of a possible problem...thats what these forums are for...IF YOU DON'T AGREE with what we are discussing here...then thats fine. However some people may be interested to learn about the FACTS...not speculation.

That's all I pointed out, was that I too read some things! I didn't claim to know people who work there or have had problems myself.

As far as your comment about Best Buy and warrantees I don't have a clue what you're trying to say!

they may raise prices...just like walmart...they're stuff isnt cheaper...they advertise a sale, when all they really do is knocking it down a few dollars from the inflated price...its not a sale below retail cost...

u gotta pay the piper somehow...

Q's like me -- he goes off a bit at times.

I've bought some small things from them with no problems. Never bought anything big. Stuff came quickly and all.

It's possible people have had problems and that the company has not been responsive. That's not always "ripoff" in intent -- but just bad management.

That company is growing fast -- maybe too fast. That's a recipe for problems as your reach exceeds your grasp, as they say. Could be they just need to get their act together.

They are not ProComp, they just market their stuff. Somebody else, I believe it's Cooper, makes tires for ProComp under contract. Others may too. Cooper also makes the Mickey Thompson brand of tires (in fact, Cooper owns MT) which aren't known for quality problems. Sometimes there are bad batches of things, or maybe the specs ProComp has them made to aren't that good.

But although I don't agree with Q's tone, I know what he's getting at: people have a problem and they make up a story to explain it. You really have to watch out for that when reading "testimonies" on the internet.

And frankly, 4 wheel parts shipping costs have ALWAYS seemed high to me. I bought my RSX shocks from Desert Rat because the shipping was less.

Actually, yes, I do expect help w/ warranty issues from the reseller if a defect happens within a very short period. That's one of the biggest reasons I mail/Internet order my photography equipment. As much as I'd rather spend a few extra bucks to avoid shipping fees, delays, and support a local business, I find the support, return, and exchange policies offered by local 'brick and mortars' rediculous. I can't speak to 4x4 parts much as I don't buy a whole heck of a lot of them, but I can speak to camera equipment. If I were to drop $1000 on a fancy new digital camera and it stops working the next day, I expect the retailer to basically take it back and give me another one out of their stock. Then THEY can deal w/ the manufacturer to get the part fixed. Meanwhile I'm a happy camper and out shooting w/ a functioning camera. Obviously if it breaks 6+ months down the road I'm on my own w/ the maker, but in the very short term I expect a certian level of support for my money. .. So no, I don't think these reports sound unjustified.
