Non-visible mud flaps?

I took the mud flaps off my 01 XLT 4x4, mainly because i thought they looked bad, but now dirt and mud get caked up all behind my taillights and it gets pretty annoying cleaning them all the time.

I was wondering if anyone has made some soft of mudflap that doesnt really show, yet still fills the gap so mud wont sling up under the body. i dont want anything thats gonna hang down past the body either

Let me know what I can do to make this happen

Thanks

Behind your taillights or in them? If it's inside then just silicone those things up and leave it be.

The mudflaps don't prevent mud from getting behind your tailight. You're talking about the splash shields inside the wheel well.

I have the same problem, you could probably cut of some cheap floor mats and fasten them to the splash guards to close the gap

i got some foamy floor runner from Home Depot and attached it behind the tail light. i cut slits in it in an X patter to pass the wire through.

I guess I should check mine, never really cared to look behind my taillights before.

My truck has hidden mud flaps behind the rear tires up to the truck bed. They just kinda hang there and are rubber. Pretty sure its stock. Keeps mud out but not dust.
