If you are "poor and looking for a job", then dont worry about doing ANYTHING to your truck that you "want" to do.
Wait until you get a job, THEN go buy some shackles.
These guys are just trying to help you out. Dont get all upset.
End.

well i'm all for advice just not being called an ******* for jerry rigging my truck, the only reason i'm dealing with this is because i absolutely needed tires and i was able to get those for really reasonable price since i got them from a junk yard off the a ranger that was totaled on the front which was brought in less than a month ago and the tires were all but new so 100 dollars seems like a good deal for 5 barley used tires.

Go back to a junk yard or salvage yard and see if you can find some stock rear lift blocks. Im not sure if you have stock blocks in the rear already or not.
The stock lift blocks are 2 inches I think (somebody correct me if im wrong) And a junk yard shouldnt charge you much for them. Newer rangers have them.
Also, depending on what a junk yard would charge for them, you can use explorer rear leaf springs to replace your stock leaf springs. They give an extra couple of inches of lift over our stock leaf springs.
As far as "jerry rigging" your rear lift, please be careful.

Here is a tip for life...stop having such thin skin. If you get upset over someone calling you a name on the internet, then i'd hate to see you in real life. Besides, he technically didn't actually call you any names. He just mentioned to not do it the "jerry rig" way, and avoid being whatever he called you.
I'd personally do shackles.

Hey Jordan
Jerry- built is something built improperly
Jury-rigged is building something with what's at hand.
Both are unwise methods for a lift.
An Inexpensive but safe method is what you really need.
Blocks ,shackles or springs, all can raise the rear of your vehicle
Safely and cheap, but each of those methods will still cost you
About $30
Please be safe and wise about your lift!

well i say jerry rig in place of ******-rig, since i don't really like using that term, any who, all arguments aside, were do these lift blocks go, i keep seeing about them, and i really don't know about anything about them, since i don't see any thing that looks like a block on my truck, is there any kinda coil spring that will fit and raise the front of my truck, i can get stuff from junk yards dirt cheep, and how do you add a spring, my springs have these little rivet things in them

In the rear of your truck there are a set of leaf springs.
Increased Lift can be done by Removinging/replacing with longer U-bolts and adding the blocks over the axel / under the springs so they are safely seated,
Or you can add longer shackles at the rear leaf springs, or you can replace/ add leaf springs
Hope this helps

yeah thats actually what i un knowingly did, so suprisingly enough i actually did something legit, my truck does not have them stock but had a tone of extra lengnth on the u-bolt so a coupl of days ago i got the idea of utalizing that extra space, so i yesterday i into the shop and made blocks to go in two on each on for either side of theat little bolt thingy that goes through the springs, any ways long story short, thats what i did and i eve put some lock-tight on for a saftey precaution
