Camper Shells!

It is called Wildernest. It was marketed by a company out of Colorado. The shell was made and assembeld by a company in Kansas but I don't remember the name. I bought it in 1989 for my 89 Ranger then had it repainted to match my 02 Ranger when I bought it. They stopped producing them around 95 due to low sales.
Another company in Kansas (Astro) tried to revive it but could not come to an agreement with the guy that made the tents.

The cable and frame that holds the shell top was designed to hold over 800 lbs. There are a couple poles that can be used to stablized the overhanging top. It is not needed but it keeps the truck from rocking when moving around. It sleeps two in that bed and can hold another two in the truck bed if I have the the bed insert in.
The tent was designed to withstand 100 mph plus wind. I have been in it with heavy wind and it feels like the thing is going to blow away so far it has not.
