New - 1993 Ranger Questions

Hi,
I bought a 1993 Ford Ranger 4.0 5-Speed with 167k miles about 2 months ago. I found out after the fact the driver's side from hub is destroyed, so it sat until this week. I finally have the money to fix that and a few other random issues it has so it can pass inspection. It's at the mechanic now. It was a farm truck, so it has many dents/scratches and the paint is very faded. Exactly what I wanted.

It current has new (replaced by previous owner):
  • Clutch
  • Flywheel
  • Master Cylinder
  • Slave Cylinder
  • Hydraulic hose between both cylinders
  • Throw Out Bearing
  • U-Joints

It has an issue of almost stalling when you step on the gas hard. It dies for a second and then starts going again. It happens constantly when cold, but much less when warmed up for several minutes. Any ideas?

My other big thing is lights. I live out in the country where the roads are winding and very dark at night. I like being able to see everything. I used a pair of Osram Rallye H7 bulbs in both the low and high beams on my daily driver, and they give off 2,100 lumens each (8,400 lumens with high beams on). They really light up everything.

The headlights and tail lights are very faded and worn out and I've seen replacement sets on eBay. I'd like to replace them (at minimum the headlights) and get good bulbs. I think Philips X-Treme Vision 9007 bulbs are the best bet, since Osram doesn't have a comparable one. Any different suggestions for headlights? (Don't say Silverstars... they're worthless)

I also want to replace the reverse lights with the brightest possible lights I can. This truck will be used both on country roads and in the woods, and the more light the better. Suggestions? I read through several topics here, but they all seemed to be focused on newer model trucks and I wasn't sure if the components were the same.

ALSO: I don't want to put light bars or any other stuff on it at the moment. I want regular lights that I can use while driving on the road.

Thanks,
Kevin

EDIT: What does everyone think of these reverse lights? http://www.carid.com/1993-ford-range...-10261424.html

On that page, choose options, then choose the PlaZma series (420 lumens per bulb)
