Tire options/opinions
So right now i am in need of new set of tires, currently have a set of 245/70R16 Goodyear silent armors, i have a 2001 offroad XLT 4x4 STOCK, no tbar crank.
looking to step up to 255/70/R16
im going between another set of Silent Armors and some BFG ATs, I drive mostly rough pavement, normally wet since it rains alot here. some offroad. and some long highway drives.
what would you recommend RF?

I had the duratracs in 265/75/16s and they were awesome! Excellent traction all the time and anywhere. The only reason why I got rid of them was because they were hard to clean and apply tire shine too. Haha I know I am weird, but I wash my truck almost every weekend and it was getting on my nerves taking like 8-10 minutes just to apply tire shine.

What are the specs on your rims? I'd recommend 265/75's as well. I have them on stock rims, with the ride height of a t-bar crank, and the only rubbing I get is on the inside front, where it rubs the swaybar a slight bit, but if you have the right wheel offset, you shouldn't have that problem.

I have the Duratracs. I've been very impressed with them. Have about 17k miles on mine now, an still have good tread. I expect them to last 35kish miles.
I've also had a couple sets of BFG AT's....one set currently on my Bronco. They are good tires as well. You should get more mileage out of these...but aren't as good in the snow as the Duratracs imo.
You should also consider the General AT2's, Falken Wildpeaks (or whatever they are called) and the NItto Terra Grappler. All good tires.

I have duratracs on my 99 stock 4x4 with the stock size. I love mine but hated the price but in the end they are worth it. If you go for them you will not be disappointed. Wal mart sells a goodyear tire similar to the duratrac but is a little different in style dont know on the price but I would assume they are a little cheaper those are not a bad looking tire either but I cannot say how they perform.

I just ordered my pizza cutter (235/85/16) Duratracs yesterday :). My brother in law has 33x12.5 on 15s on his '95 Bronco (4" body lift) and he said he will never get anything else. They are the best all around off-road tire he's had and pulled him through "Snowmaggedon" here in Maryland with absolutely no problem. Excellent wet road traction, but he said the only thing he regrets is getting that big of a tire. We both like the pizza cutter look and with more weight per corner, the truck would have better traction in wet/snow conditions.

I have had many over the years and the Cooper ATPs I have now are the best yet, great off road and silent on the highway. If you want something more aggressive, I have heard only good things about duratracs.
265/70 is slightly taller than 245/70.

1994 2wd Regular Cab
I have a 1994 2wd ford ranger regular cab that has 235/75/R15's on it, they are getting worn and close to replacement time;I am not a fan of studded tires but my fiancee and her family like them and insist on them. Lol, I was wanting to go to studless winter tires. The 235/75's rub a bit but nothing that zip ties did not take care of. I was thinking about going to 215/60's? Any suggestions or comments or help on best size to go to?

X2
I upgraded my size from 245/75/16 to 265/75/16 and the only rubbing is on the sway bar at full lock. I've got the GoodYear Wrangler Authorities from Walmart.
the 245 tires were $165 each and the 265 were on sale for $166. It was a tough decision. lol

^^^ I've checked those out in the store, and they seem like a really good tire. I'm considering them for my next round of tires. They have the 265/75 in load C or E, so anyone considering them, be careful to specify your load rating. I will never put a load E tire on my Ranger again. Rides like ****.
