Its probably a body lift but...
if the 3" kit is spindles for the front, then you get lift blocks. i know with my superlift (which is for a 4x4), the rear blocks are added on top of the stock blocks to net in a 3.5" (approximate) rear lift. if you take the stock blocks out, you loose however much lift they gave you. All the lifts Ive seen assume that you keep the stock blocks installed to get the advertised amount of lift. Clear as mud?
After all that, i would stay away from lift blocks. Get an Add-A-Leaf (which will give you a couple inches and costs about $80) and a Belltech Chevy Drop shackle (another 1.5" and also costs $80 or so)
-or-
Get new leaf springs. such as the skyjacker softride leafs. They are a little expensive, but give you the best ride. Also, they are advertised as fitting a 1997 or older ranger, but they fit all the way up to 2008 (which i have)

oh hey man what's up?? This is Ryan right? Yeah I have been on here for a couple of months but I never come on. I'm looking to do some stuff to my truck so I'm looking for advice. About how much did you pay for the spindle?
