Towing questions for 1st timer here
Hi Everyone. Hope you're all doing well. A few questions for all of you as I need a lot of help. Car guy here...mainly Mustangs. Live in Vegas & have a big show in Michigan in Aug. Want to tow my 3200 lb car plus rented car trailer to and from the show...don't have a truck yet. Figured a Ranger SuperCab 4x2 would do the job with the 4.0. U haul says even that would not be enough as the trailer and car outweigh the truck itself. Then tried them with a 1990 LTD Country Squire wagon...the brochures always had them towing big trailers...same answer as the Ranger...vehicle too light to tow Mustang and trailer. Do not want to put all those miles on the pony and didn't want to buy a full size truck. Is U haul really right? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! :-)

I've towed the big flatbed from haul when we moved. It was a double axle and I'd say we had probably close to 5k pounds with furniture/ trailer. I had the 3.0l it did ok but I wouldn't recommend it for long distances on the interstate. It just struggles to pull it at speed. Also even with trailer brakes stopping will be a struggle it's just a lot of weight for the little truck
