I would totally bipass to gov't and import one in. Take it and and a '03L2 have them make passionate love, and create a '03 Fx4L2 4dr twin turbo diesel 5spd reg. bed(like the US rangers 6ft) extend the frame make it look right.....THAT would be cool. drool.......drooollll.

I've driven one before, I was stationed over in Italy for the military. They drive really well, at least the one I drove did. The owner said he was pushing 200 HP and about 300 ft/lbs torque. Though I'm not sure where his numbers came from. He had it raised with 33's on it. I'll see if I can find a pic of it somewhere.

The Mexican trucks are left side drive, just like we have. The reason for no crewcab ranger sales in the U.S. is becuase they do not pass our crash standrads. If you really wanted one, it can be done. Not legally, but it's been done many times for many different foregin manufactured car/trucks and lots of motorcycles.

Mexico Gets all kinds of cooler cars then us. They had a 86 Monte carlo SS with a 350 and a muncie 4spd. We had to be stuck with a 140 horse 305 with a 200 metric auto tranny. They also had a Bronco type Dodge Ramcharger based on a 1500 dodge right up until 2001. Why these can't be adapted for the u.s. market I have no idea.

yeayeayea....I forgot about those newer style ramchargers. They looked just like the old ramchargers, but the new style. They even had a caravan liftgate and taillights in the rear. Here's some pics:

Hurm 3.0L "electronic" powerstroke

120kw @ 3.800 rpm.
· Torque: 38,7 m.kgf @ 1.600-2.200 rpm.

Torque converts to 280 lb/ft

120kw=161hp

Edit found more info.. The older 2.8 non electronic powerstroke was
135PS, 277 lb/ft

135ps=133hp

Yeah my boss has an Excursion Diesel with turbo back exaust, chipped (I think stacked some chips on it) and intake and a few other mods. My god does that thing haul some serious ***. You'd never know a 10,000 pound truck could beat a WRX-STI till you sit in it and experience it.
