on the bed? its called a J-clip.. actually if you tighten by hand then run them home with the impact like any nut you wont have a problem they arnt "cheap ****" they are rated over grade 8... when they fail it is usually due to northern trucks in the salt belt and they rust out.. but i have had a grade 8 bolt rust in half up here so thats not uncommon..
