New Under Hood Mod
I went on a junkyard run this morning-I was looking for a new throttle body shroud/cover for the 4.0. i popped the hood on an Explorer just for the hell of it after I found what i was looking for and saw something a little different, so I snagged it to see if I could make it work.

I had to do a little trimming here and there and fab up som brakets to mount it, but I think it looks pretty Bad @ss. A couple of coats of Fusion gloss black and on it went.

I'll probable paint the "4.0L SOHC" silver--or maybe some silver leaf.
How do you like it?

Thanks Guys-
I fabbed-up some new brackets tonight when I got home from work. The aluminum that I originally used was kinda thin, so I snagged a stick of 1/8"x1/2" aluminum stock from work and used the originals as patterns, plus added a fourth one. They're in the garage now--a couple of coats of Rustoleum Spray-on bedliner and the brackets disappear in the engine compartment. More pics soon.

Pics of the mounting locations and brackets:
I put some yellow tape on the back ones so they're easier to pick out in the pics-they pretty much blend in and disappear with the Rusto Bed liner.
Back two mount using bolts from the intake manifold:

Front two mount to the throttle body where the original Ranger 4.0 shroud mounted:

Just have to mess around with the brackets to get everything to line-up and look straight.
Used some short 10-24 SS screws as studs or posts-drop the shroud over the posts and fasten with 10-24 SS acorn nuts and 1/4" SS flat washers(the washers fit in the recesses perfectly).
Hopefully these shots will help anyone who wants to try this.
