Fresh air thru floor vents...

On my old 94 I remember passive fresh air coming thru the floor vents!
It was great...as a bonus I could warm or cool the fresh air without turning on any settings or fans.
I now have an 08 FX4 and it is sealed tight as a drum and I miss that little bit of passive air flow in the cabin. Was I dreaming that this was happening and can I get that air flow back?
Sure would like to know if this was common and if the newer rangers can let in outside air.
Thanks!

Also, anyone old enough to remember the side door vent on the floor on an old early 70's f series? That seemed so simple, like a wing window vent!

I believe all of the air coming in is fresh unless you turn it to recirc or MAX. Todays vehicles have less air leaks so it is hard for the air to get in unless you turn on the fan.

Pretty sure not a leak since I could change the temperature, it was just a nice little bit of outside air thru the floor vents.
After I monied up I did get an aftermarket air...that maybe a reason for this or maybe it was so bone stock bottom of the ranger food chain that is the way they were and add the fact it was totaled 3times that maybe my mechanic tweaked it.
Pretty sure that was how they rolled and now I miss it. My German rollers have passive air flow thru the cabin.
