Was driving my 3.0 Ranger (114k miles) down the road about 2 minutes after starting it and the CEL came on...I tried to see if anything was happening to diagnose it but everything seems to be running exactly the same. No vibration, no noises, no difference in RPM, nothing. Anyone have any ideas besides a bad sensor or anything? Thanks a million for the help guys.

 

Can be anything - - - Scan it and start the hunt -- (when was your last fuel fillup?, did'ja leave your cap loose?)

 

Checking the code with a scanner will let you know what's going on.

 

My money is on an o2 sensor. Never know till you scan it though.

 

Ya, a scan should let me know. I'm just trying to avoid paying money for a scan since I don't have a reader.

The CEL can come on for a thousand different reasons. Scan it. Anything else is a guess.
