Street or track only?
Biggest problem with trucks is traction, no weight in the back
heavier 9" shorten axle with some wide wheels and tires helps
Use automatic trans
Obviously, strip out everything that doesn't "make it go" or "help it stop"
Ranger beats corvette, gotta like that: www.youtube.com/watch?v=dWlLNOUOMUQ

Not far haven't had much time to work on it, just removed the back panels and i'm building a 350 Chevy that I got for cheap from a person who blew up the stock pistons and rods from nitrous. No it's not 2wd but i will be removing all the suspension, axles and subframe and replacing it.

What year is your Ranger?
If it's 4x4 like you implied above, you might as well sell it & get ya a 2wd.
Rangers are full frame trucks, so there ain't no subframe! Not like a Camaro, Nova, or Mustang.
What kinda damage did the nitrous do to the block when it blew?
How far are you willin to go with this build $$$ wize?
I've got a 94 that would fit your bill, but youz a LONG WAYS AWAY!
