Icon5 driving down I-77 in two weeks

i'll be driving from grand rapids MI to lynchburg VA in two weeks and am looking for something interesting to do with my girlfriend for an afternoon. i'd like to drive about half way or so. i'm taking I-77 out of akron into west virginia. looking for some ideas and any help would be great. also if there could a hotel/motel close that would be great.

thanks

Warther Carvings in Dover (Exit 83) is just off the interstate and has some unbelievable carved locomotives and trains. They also have a knife shop where they make all kinds of kitchen cutlery. There is a Comfort Inn at the same exit.
