Will 30in tires fit on a stock ranger

I have a 2004 Edge 2WD and i was looking at some new tires. The tires were 30x9.5/15. Will they fit ok on the stock suspension or will i need to adjust the torsion bars a little so there will be no rubbing. Thanks for the help

Yes, they will fit withot any modification or rubbing, even 33's fit stock, with some minor rubbing stock

I have 32s with VERY minor rubbing at full lock, and only because my wheels have a different backspacing than stock.

An equally important question as "will they fit?" is "how will it affect my ride quality?" With the upgrade to larger tires you'll have decreased stopping power, slightly poorer acceleration, and often a reduction in gas milage. The first thing to think about is your gears, there's a code on your driver's door jam that corresponds to an axle code. Check this chart to see what the optimal tire size for your gear ratio is and work from there..

32s are awesome - didn't think I'd like 'em, but once Ryan and Bob put them on my truck, I want bigger tires now! :) 30s will be nice, but you could afford to go bigger

Look at my avatar. I have 30x9.5 R15 on my truck. I only got those instead of 31's, because I scored all four brand new for $150. BUT if I were buying them, I would go with at least 31's. If your going to spend that much money for 30's, you could spend a couple more and get a bigger size that would look better.

Yea there not bad, but I scored all four for $150 so it wasn't bad. I wouldn't pay full price for the 30's when for an extra $50 you could get 31's.

ok i see everyones point on big tires. I used to have a 98 gti before i got my truck and now i feel in a totally different world. U guys are alot more informative and cooler than the VW guys. By the way another quick question i should have asked, what about if i want to run the stock wheels. Im in college and poor just like 99% of everyone else. I like the stock wheels and just need to knowwhat the size of the stock wheels are. They are the same wheels that Gatorblue42 has. Thanks for all the help

ok if you have a 15" whell stock i wouldnt go over a 32x11.5x15 on the 7" wide rim. acully a great tire is a 31x10.5x15 on the stock rims. NOW if you want some major big tires you can run a 33x10.5x15 on the stock rim. but personally the 33x10 looks WAY to skinny for the hight. now if you have a 16" wheel stock run a 265x75x16. that help ya ?

Yeah I think a 32x11.5 would be fine, I have seen it done before by people. But if you are interested in buying some wheels, let me know cause I can point ya to a guy who sells them very cheap.

yea that all helped. the only thing i was really concerned about was the width of the rim. i didnt know how wide it was and was worried if i bought tires that they wouldnt fit. well with all this help im sure gonna be able to find a good set of tires for my truck

I got your pm and like I said mine don't rub any. The width doesn't matter as long as don't go too wide then they will rub when you turn. Mine are 32x10.5x15, I would like to 11.5 wide but I got such a good deal on these. I couldn't pass em up. But you'll be ok with 32's.
