MY buddy just put on a CAI (a real one) on his truck and it sounds sick!! so I had to at least get a cone filter for the sound. I know its not going to help performance but it will sound awsome....I hope, his truck is a 1500.
Has anyone had any experience with these cheap adapters? its a k&n filter at least, I was wondering if someone on here has customized their box to fit the filter in there, like cut off the top and front so that the filter is open, but still has the wall protecting from the heat like the real CAI's do.
Has anyone done this?

 

on my 99 3.0L i made my own adapter. looked kinda "ghetto" but it worked. I could still use the stock box too. I dont have any pictures with the stock box in there though.
