!help!

I just started doin my brakes and I cant get the brake pad holder/bracket bolts off. I soaked them with pb blaster and they still wont move. WTF? The caliper bolts came off easy but now im stuck. How can I get these off?

how long did you let the pb blaster soak? how big of a wrench are you using?

did you try putting your purse down, nancy girl?

Which one now? the caliper bolts or the caliper bracket bolts that mount the bracket to the knuckle/spindle? Breaker bar? I use red locktite on those bolts and always am able to break'em loose.

The bolts that bolt to the knuckle/spindle.

we see that alot at the shop, they sieze in there use a torch and heat those bltches up

yea...those are locktited fro mthe factory, and should be relocktited upon install as well....


use your muscles and they'll come loose. if all else fails, take a hammer to your 1/2" drive ratchet to help motivate it.

Ill try that but will the bolts still be ok to use?

Yeah I was hitting it with a rubber mallet and they didnt move and then I tried my handle from my floor jack as a breaker bar and nothing happened. FVCK!!

yea they should be still ok, heat em up, not the heads though right the bracket then after about a minute or so try turning them, if they get tight coming out work em back and forth, you dont wanna break em off in there

rubber mallet??? you want the force to be exerted on the the ratchet, not absobed by the rubber mallet dude. Get a 4lb hammer. I never use heat on those btw. I think your just not trying hard enough...put your body weight into it.

2 ft. breaker bar and a decently weighted hammer and mine came off, they just need alot of elbow grease

Fock no! I'm pissed... They just will not budge.I tried everything possible and finally gave up. I do not want to snap a bolt. I'm gonna bring it to a friend of mines shop on monday and have him do it.
