First Ranger

Im looking to buy a Ranger. My limit is about 3600. There arent many options where Ilive though. This will be n almost everyday driver to and from school and used for motocross racing. It wont need to tow a railer though. Im not sure though if i should pay more for a nicer truck i wont have to do anything to, or to pay less but be able to customize it for me. I was thinking like wheels and tires, maybe new paint, interior stuff, exhaust, lghts, etc. I have found a 2000 Ranger xlt with like 125000 miles or so. ts only 1000$ bu then i could put money into it. I ven saw an 87 Ranger for 950$ that really just needed paint. But with that i cat be exactly sure how many miles it has. Also, im 16 so this will be my first truck. Im also open for any other suggetions or ideas. Thank you

125,000 isn't realy that many miles on a vechile these days if it was cared for but a 2000 for $ 1000 id be a lil cautious. That would b a steal if theres not much wrong with it. just look it over good or take someone with you that has some mechanical experance.

Yea my dad is really good with all that and he will be with me. Those trucks didn't work out but now I'm looking at a 1994 4x4 extended cab manual transmission v6. Not sure if it's a 3 or 4 l though. It's got 147xxx miles on it and he's asking 2000$. It looks really clean and seems like he kept up on the maintenance. Think it's a good deal?

you can always run a four wheel drive in two wheel drive but never a 2 wheel drive in four.haha Two wheel drives are less maintainance and usually get better fuel mileage but I realy miss having a 4x4 as my ranger is a 2x4.
