Epic Fail at work today

So yes today at work we had a brand new sprinter that we just sold come back to work with a CEL well when we checked it out it had a Active Massive component failure. Well we looked underneath and someone apparently didnt know their way around a diesel when stealing the Cats and stole the DPF instead, poor bastard is in for a surprise at the scrapyard. But still its like a $4000 list part and also you have to pay for the core so yes we have to figure out if a CEL comes on right away if you remove the DPF or if it is Delayed then we will see who pays for it US or THEM. I just though that this guy is DUMB for stealing a worthless piece of crap...

They only drove it a few miles after delivery and we have to see if we sold it without the DPF or if it was a hack and grab deal after they left the lot

i would think they would have to pay for it since they took delivery of the vehicle. It is up to them to inspect the vehicle before taking delivery of it...
