New mod (no one has this!)

Well I finally got off my butt and did it. I have pictures but not with me, Ill post them tonight.

I put a switch in my bed, to tell when my tail gate is down which lights a light in my cab. works good. took all of 2hrs. and im quite happy with it.

Like I said, ill have pictures this evening.

Yeah, that is a good idea... I wouldn't go to all the trouble myself, but it is definitely a cool and unique idea...

at first I was like you need a light to tell you that? Then I recalled the numerous times I've left my tailgate down and almost lost all my fishin rods... not a bad idea at all

This is a good idea esp. if you have a tonneau cover.

well we have a 1977 e350 in our yard, so i took the door switch out of it, the lil switch that turns on the cabin lights when the door is open. I then used a 2x2in galvanized bracket, and made a little 'case' out of it. then attached it with self tapping sheet metal screws, a washer and a lock washer, however i stripped a hole so now i gotta put in a regular bolt. it works well so far, and from my limited test as of right now, it appears as tho this will work. however, in the future i may need to further fine tune this for better results, since right now its taking up bed room....

A little over a year ago, we lost a truck bed full of orders on the way to be shipped pulling out of my street due to the tailgate being left down

Needless to say, Bobbo's tailgate-down LED shortly followed!! It's a GREAT idea!!
