Hi when I run my ranger the a/c cools but when I am on traffic or in a red light it it stops cooling... Is it a sensor or it's just normal ford ranger a/c issue?? Would a cooling fan fix the issue?? Thanks!

 

normal because there is no air flowing through the condenser...swapping to an e-fan will solve the issue

 

So the ac gets warm at a stop or the compressor stops cycling?

As djfllmn points out an efan will help.

The bigger issue is that your clutch fan might be shot, the cost of a new clutch is about equal to the efan mod.

I had the same thing until i put a new clutch in.
when you truck is running with the A/C on, does your fan look like its spinning slow, or fast?

 

Ummm I havent checked but when my truck is on it normally run slow

 

How would an E fan help him? Sounds like he has an AC issue. Maybe low on refrigerant, where it needs RPM's to pump fast enough to cool?

 

^e-fan will keep air flowing through the condenser when your stopped...air flowing through condenser=colder ac...but when there is no air flow the a/c gets warmer...normal operation...if it was low on r-134a the compressor would keep cycling on and off and the ac would never get cold

 

Stock fan will push more than enough air at idle to cool the condenser.

 

Ummm. I have refrigerant on my truck, the problem must be the fan

 

Probably is the fan clutch, when my truck is on fan runs very slow

 

or the condenser and/or radiator are restricted from air flow. my dads 93 would overheat when coming to a stop. the radiator was packed full of cottonwood

 

Once the clutch goes the fan is worthless. A new clutch is about the cost of the efan mod.

 

How can I. Know if my fan clutch is working like it should?

 

When your truck is hot you should not be able to easily spin the fan. I suggest checking it with the engine off.
